2010 Commencement Speakers

During a time with record high unemployment rates, graduating seniors are looking forward to the advice of their college commencement speakers regarding their professional pursuits and for motivation for success in the highly competitive American job market.
Here is a list of some of the nation’s highlighted commencement speakers:

  • May 1, President Obama spoke at the University of Michigan. He will also be speaking at Hampton University on May 9.
  • First Lady Michele Obama will speak at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, on May 8, as a reward for their recent monumental community service endeavors by the students at Pine Bluff . She also will be speaking at George Washington University on May 16.
  • Oscar and Emmy winning actress, Marsha Gay Harden will speak as an alumna of the University of Texas – Austin on May 22.
  • Former President Bill Clinton will speak at the West Virginia University on May 16 and at Yale University for the third time on May 23.
  • CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will speak at Tulane University on May 15.
  • Actor Danny Glover will speak at Utah State University on May 8.
  • U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan will speak at the University of Richmond on May 9 and again at Lesley University on May 19.
  • On May 12, actor and philanthropist Alec Baldwin will speak at his alma mater New York University.
  • Loyola University in New Orleans will be welcoming NFL Saints Super Bowl XLIV’s Most Valuable Player, Drew Brees to speak on May 8.
