A More Humane Education at the Humane Society University

Most students who want to work with animals consider a degree in marine biology, zoology, or veterinary medicine. Pretty standard majors, and they allow students to combine their love for animals with a college education. Well, now there is another option for students who want to work with animals in a more humane way.
The Humane Society University, founded in 2008, offers degrees in Humane Leadership, Animal Studies, and Animal Policy & Advocacy. The Humane Society University is obviously the brainchild of the Humane Society of the United States, an organization that has been dedicated to the humane treatment of animals since 1954.
Students at The Humane Society University learn from leaders in the field and attend classes in 8-week blocks. They can earn a bachelor’s or a graduate certificate from the university. Classes are available on the campus, which is located in Washington, D.C., or online.
