Best College Movies of All Time

Want to see a movie but lack the funds for a ticket and some rather pricey concession food? Stay home and rent one of these top ten greatest college movies:
Road Trip (2000): Maybe one of Tom Green’s most memorable movies, Road Trip shows the struggles of long-distance relationships. The movie also includes hilarious subplots like Green’s character’s obsession with Mitch, the snake and the complications of high jacking a blind-school
bus.
Revenge of the Nerds (1984): This movie brings out the nerd in all of us. In this 80’s iconic film, Revenge of the Nerds, the geeks are the heroes and the jocks/frat boys are the villains. Have a blast counting all of the plastic-framed glasses and pocket protectors in this underdog flick.
Back to School (1986): Who says father and son can’t go to college together? Rodney Dangerfield plays a wealthy, yet uneducated, father who’s determined to earn his degree along with his son. Check out this goofy plot and see if Dangerfield’s character can make it to graduation day.
Higher Learning (1995): More serious than most college movies, Higher Learning brings to light the struggles of on-campus living, including racial tension, rape and responsibility. See how the plot unravels as students are stretched to the breaking point by racism, inexperience and misapprehensions.
Good Will Hunting (1997): Another serious college movie, Will Hunting is a janitor who has a knack for math. When discovered by a Fields Medal-winning professor, Hunting is coerced into seeing a washed-up therapist who tries to turn his life around. See the movie that put both Matt Damon, who plays Hunting, and Ben Affleck on the map. In addition, Robin Williams, who plays the therapist, won an Oscar for his supporting role.
Legally Blonde (2001): The fun-loving, but dense, Elle Woods, played by Reese Witherspoon, decides to apply for Harvard Law School so she can win back her politically-minded ex-boyfriend. Old School (2003): Watch the movie that jump-started Will Ferrell’s movie career. The plot focuses on a trio of men who are having mid-life crises. Animal House (1978): Yep, it’s the granddaddy of them all. Animal House started the whole college-is-just-one-big-party genre, and its plot is unforgettable. Witness how fraternities party it up in this John Belushi classic.
Drumline (2002): Check out the film that made band geeks cool. Nick Cannon plays a talented
drummer from Harlem. The big-headed snare player thinks he’ll be leading the marching band’s drum line to triumph, but instead, finds himself floundering in college life. See if Cannon’s character learns that it takes more than talent to reach the top in this up-beat film.
Rudy (1993): Not only is it one of the greatest sports movies, but Rudy is also one of those can’t-stop-crying-no-matter-how-hard-you-try films. Rudy Ruettiger, played by Sean Aston, is half the size of the players on Notre Dame’s football team, but he’s determined to play.
