Cameron Diaz is an American actress who first became famous in the 1990s when she appeared in several blockbusters including The Mask, My Best Friend’s Wedding, and There’s Something About Mary. Since then, she has starred in many more big films such as The Holiday, What Happens in Vegas, and My Sister’s Keeper. Her next movie to hit the big screen will be Bad Teacher in which she co-stars with her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, and Jason Segel. Diaz was born on August 30, 1972, in San Diego, California. Her parents are Emilio and Billie Diaz. When she was 16-years old, Diaz was signed by Elite Models and moved away from her hometown in Long Beach, California, to pursue a modeling career. For the next five years, Diaz lived in exotic locations such as Paris, Japan, and Morocco.
In 1994, Diaz returned to the USA and began pursuing a career as an actress. Her first major film was The Mask; she was hired for the role even though she did not have any previous acting experience. Diaz was nominated for several awards for her work in this movie and it became one of the top grossing films of the year.
After The Mask, Diaz co-starred with Julia Roberts in My Best Friend’s Wedding in 1997 and There’s Something About Mary in 1998. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in this role. Some of her other recent movies include Vanilla Sky, Charlie’s Angels, Shrek, Knight and Day, and The Green Hornet.
On a personal note, Diaz has had many famous relationships with other celebrities. Some of the men she has dated include Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake; she has been dating New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez since July 2010.
