Celine Dion's Education Background

Celine Marie Claudette Dion was born on March 30, 1968. She was raised in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada. Dion is the youngest daughter of Adhemar and Therese Tanguay Dion. Dion’s parents owned a small piano bar called Le Vieux Baril. Dion is the youngest of fourteen children.
Dion’s career began very early. She grew up singing in her parent’s piano bar. Dion composed and recorded her first song at age twelve. That song was received by music manager, Rene Angelil.
Angelil’s belief in the young Dion’s talent lead him to mortgage his home in order to fund her first album. In 1981, Dion released La voix du bon Dieu (“The Voice of the Good God”). The young singer’s record became a local number one hit and made Dion an instant star in Quebec.
Dion’s childhood was then consumed with performing and recording. In 1982 Dion won the “Top Performer” award at the Yamaha World Popular Music Festival in Tokyo, Japan. Dion’s early career continued to find much national and international success. By 1990, she had learned English and released her first record in the United States. Once her soft rock style was heard in the United States, Dion’s fame soared. She continued to release English language albums and was met with much acclaim. Dion has released 10 English albums since 1990. She has produced four number one singles in the United States, and has toured nine times since 1990.
Dion eventually married her manager, Rene Angelil. The manager who she first met at age twelve. The couple have a 26 year age difference. Dion and Angelil publicly dealt with infertility and eventually welcomed two twin sons into their family in 2010.
