Cheap Easy Meals You Can Make in the Dorms

It’s the end of the week, and you have less than $20 to your name. It’s time to eat, but your stomach soon growls as you notice that all that’s left is moldy leftovers and a box of saltines. Sound familiar?
Before you go begging your roommates for free food, check out this list of easy meals you can make that won’t break the bank:
Fruit smoothie: This could be a snack or a meal if you double the portion size. Combine milk, yogurt, a frozen banana and some honey into a blender. These tasty treats are perfect to sip on while you’re walking to your next class.
Breakfast burritos: Cook scrambled eggs by zapping them in the microwave. Add salsa and cheese and place on a tortilla. Eggs are a cheap way to get that much needed protein, and tortillas are a college staple because they last longer than bread.

Ramen noodles: I know what you’re thinking: College students eating Ramen noodles isn’t exactly breaking news. However, you can make that bowl of noodles more substantial if you add a can of mixed veggies and a can of chicken.
Chili pitas: Pour a half can of already-made chili into a pita pocket. Sprinkle some shredded cheese on top and heat up in the microwave. It takes less than five minutes to make and is the perfect pick-me-up for that late-night studying.
Late-night nachos: These are a must have if you’re hosting a study group. Add refried beans, your favorite salsa and two cups of cheese over some tortilla chips. Zap in the microwave for 2 minutes and serve your hungry guests.
