College Application Deadlines are Approaching

As November 1st gets closer and closer, the more I start to freak out. On that day I have one of my ten applications due and it’s for one of my top three schools.
The fact that soon I will be turning in my applications for my colleges makes me realize how little time I have left in high school and how little time I have left to spend with the friends I have made and to act like a kid. Once I go to college, since I will be leaving state, I will have to be much more responsible because I won’t have anyone but myself taking care of me. Sure, I’ll still have my family backing me up, but it will be from a distance, and that is something that I have never experienced.
As the deadline approaches, I also realize just how much I still have to do. Although I have completed everything on the common app website to be submitted, I still have essays to write and tune up before this due date. There are so many small things that you have to be sure you are turning in on time with your application. These things can include anything from the application fee, to the paper you submit for the supplemental part of your application. So before you send in your application, I strongly recommend making yourself a checklist and making sure you have everything to send off.
While the deadline for one of my top choices approaches, I’ll try to remind myself to stay cool and make sure I finish everything in a timely manner so I don’t feel rushed. Of course, I think this is one of those things that it easier said than done!
