Conan O'Brien Education Background

Conan O’Brien was born April 18, 1963 in Boston to Thomas and Ruth O’Brien, the third of six children. He is descended from Irish-Catholic, pre-Civil War immigrants. His high school years were spent at Brookline High School, where he excelled at academics, was editor of his school newspaper and graduated valedictorian.
Following graduation, he enrolled at Harvard University, where he majored in journalism. While at Harvard, he wrote for the illustrious Harvard Lampoon, and he graduated magna cum laude. While at Harvard, he met Jeff Zucker, who would later become his boss at NBC.
Following graduation, he moved out to Los Angeles where he landed a job as a writer for an HBO show called Not Necessarily the News. He was also a member of the improvisational group called The Groundlings, and he caught the eye of Lorne Michaels, who quickly hired O’Brien to write for Saturday Night Live.
O’Brien gained fame when he was given his own talk show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien. He met his future wife Elizabeth when she appeared in a skit on his show.
He will launch a new talk show on TBS in the fall 2010.
