Ellen Kathleen Pompeo was born on November 10, 1969 in Everett, Massachusetts. She is known for playing the title role, Meredith Grey in ABC’s show

After graduating from high school in Everett, Pompeo moved to Florida. In 1996, Pompeo was bar tending at the SoHo Bar and Grill in 

 when an agent approached her about being in commercials. Pompeo was able to break into minor television roles and eventually film. She made her studio screen debut in 2002. She starred in
