Eric Dane was born November 9, 1972 in San Francisco, California. Dane attended Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California from 1987 to 1990. He then attended San Mateo High School in San Mateo, California from 1990 to 1991. Throughout high school, Dane was quite athletic. He graduated in 1991.
Dane’s first acting experience was in the role of Joe Keller in All My Sons by Arthur Miller in an amateur production. He discovered his passion for acting and set off to pursue his career in the 1990’s. He appeared in television roles throughout the 90’s and 2000’s before receiving the role of Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on the series Grey’s Anatomy.
Dane has recently taken on film roles as well. He has starred in Marley & Me, Valentines Day and Burlesque. Currently Dane is married to actress Rebecca Gayheart and they have one child together.
