Gisele Bundchen's Education Background

Gisele Caroline Bündchen was born July 20, 1980. She was born in the Brazilian town of Três de Maio and grew up in Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul. She is the daughter of university teacher and writer, Valdir Bündchen and bank clerk pensioner, Vânia Nonnenmacher. Bündchen has five sisters named Raquel, Graziela, Gabriela, Rafaela and her fraternal twin Patrícia.
In 1993 Bündchen began a modeling course at the age of thirteen. A few years later Bündchen was discovered by a modeling agency while she was eating at a McDonalds with her friends. Bündchen moved to New York in 1996 to begin her modeling career. She debuted at that year’s Fashion Week. Bündchen appeared on Vogue’s cover three times in 1999. Bündchen was also named VH1/Vogue Model of the year for 1999.
The same year Vogue magazine credited Bündchen with ending the “heroin chic” era of modeling. Bündchen became a Victoria’s Secret Angels in 2000. She remained an Angel until 2007. Since 2004 Bündchen has been the highest paid model in the world. She is the sixteenth richest woman in the entertainment industry. Her fortune is estimated at $150 million.
Models Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell, have argued that Bündchen is the only true remaining “supermodel.” Bündchen has also taken on the role as an occasional film actress. She had supporting roles in Taxi and The Devil Wears Prada. She also serves as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme. From 2000 to 2005, Bündchen was in a much-publicized relationship with American actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Today she is married to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
