Heidi Klum's Education Background

Heidi Samuel, better known by her birth name Heidi Klum, was born on June 1, 1973. Klum was raised in Bergisch Gladbach, a city outside Cologne, Germany. Her parents are Günther, a cosmetics-company executive, and Erna, a hairdresser.
In 1992 Klum entered a modeling contest and won. She was offered a modeling contract worth $300,000. Klum accepted the contract a few months after she graduated from high school. She chose not to try for an apprentice position at fashion design school.
Klum’s choice to pursue modeling did not let her down. Her career has been widely successful and extensive. Klum has been on the cover of the fashion magazines Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire. She became widely popular after appearing on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Her work with Victoria’s Secret as an “Angel” made her famous as well.
Klum has served as a spokesmodel for McDonald’s, Braun, Dannon, H & M, and Liz Claiborne, and others. She is currently signed to IMG Models in New York City and is a celebrity spokesmodel for Jordache and Volkswagen.
Klum has worked as an actor in addition to modeling. She has appeared in TV shows, including Spin City, Sex and the City, Yes Dear, and How I Met Your Mother. Klum has also appeared in films. She had roles in movies, including Blow Dry, Ella Enchanted and was cast in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. Klum had cameo appearances in The Devil Wears Prada and Perfect Stranger.
In July 2007 Klum had earned $8 million in the previous 12 months. In 2008 her income was estimated at $14 million. For 2009, Klum’s estimated income was $16 million.
