Hilary Duff's Education Background

Hilary Erhard Duff was born on September 28, 1987 in Houston, Texas. She is the second daughter of Robert Erhard Duff, a partner in a chain of convenience stores, and Susan Colleen, a homemaker. Her older sister is Haylie Duff.
Duff and her sister Haylie were so invested in the acting profession that the siblings moved to California at a young age. Due to Duff’s acting pursuits, she was home schooled. Along with her sister, Duff was first cast in various television commercials. In 1998 Duff was cast in her first major role. She starred in the “direct-to-video” film Casper Meets Wendy. Duff’s most popular role to date came very early in her career. Starring as Lizzie in the Disney Channel’s original show Lizzie McGuire, sealed her fame. The first episode aired on January 12, 2001. The show was a ratings hit, drawing in 2.3 million viewers per episode. The show ran until 2004.
In 2003, Duff received her first major role in a film when she was cast alongside Frankie Muniz in Agent Cody Banks. She also reprised her character Lizzie McGuire for The Lizzie McGuire Movie the same year. Later that year, Duff played one of the 12 children of Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt in the film Cheaper by the Dozen. This remains Duff’s highest grossing film to date.
Duff expanded her repertoire into pop music. She has released three Recording Industry Association of America- certified platinum albums. Duff has sold over thirteen million records through out the world.
Duff has also released her own clothing lines, Stuff by Hilary Duff and Femme for DKNY Jeans, and two perfume collections with Elizabeth Arden. Duff has also signed a modeling contract with IMG Modeling.
