How to Land a Job at the FBI

It seems lately the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been recruiting new agents with some surprising educational backgrounds.
Whether you’re of an older generation and remember when Jimmy Cagney was an agent in G-Men or you’re looking to erase memories of aliens like in Men in Black, the FBI is known amongst society to be an exciting, interesting, and competitive career path.
According to reports via the FBI, they are looking for Special Agents for four specific entry-level programs and one general department and are scouting for:

  • Certified Public Accountants (CPA) with bachelor’s degrees who have a minimum of at least three years of accounting experience.
  • Computer Science or Information Technology Specialists with bachelor’s degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, etc., along with a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or Internetworking Expert (CCIE) certification.
  • Language Specialists or Interpreters who are able to pass a high-competency test and hold bachelor’s degrees in any language area especially Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Hebrew, and Hindi with an extensive knowledge of their field’s culture and society.
  • Law Practitioners with degrees from accredited law schools.
  • The final entry-level program is for individuals interested that do not fall into a previous category. People interested in this program, should hold an undergraduate bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree with an additional three years of full-time professional experience in their field.
