James Comey Educational Background: Is James Comey well educated?

FBI Headshot
Confirmed as the seventh director of the FB on September 14th of 2013, James Comey came under scrutiny after announcing a reopening of the Clinton e-mail investigation less than 11 days before the 2016 presidential election. While his impact on the election cannot be quantified, many believe that he may have swung the hotly contested race in Donald Trump’s favor. Before he assumed his current position, James Comey worked as the deputy attorney general at the Department of Justice. After leaving the Department of Justice in 2005, he went on to serve as a senior vice prudent at Lockheed Martin. After almost a decade away from the government, Comey assumed his current role in the public sector. However, long before he was an attorney, James was just another kid growing up in Allendale.
Born on December 4th of 1960, James Comey was one of four children belonging to James Brien and Joan Comey. While born in Yonkers, James spent most of his formative years growing up in New Jersey. After attending local elementary schools, he completed his primary education at Northern Highlands Regional High School. It was during his senior year at Northern Highlands that James underwent an ordeal he credits with changing his life. One evening, he and his brother Matthew found themselves imprisoned in their own home by a notorious serial rapist. Though they escaped unscathed, it allowed James to develop an empathy for his clients that’s not found in all attorneys. These twenty-four hours helped determine his life for years to come. After graduating from Northern Highlands, he went on to join the ranks of William and Mary, majoring in chemistry and religion.
The second oldest school in the US, the College of William of Mary is sometimes called the Alma Mater of the Nation. It’s at this school that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson received their secondary education. Comey graduated from this illustrious school in 1982 following four years of liberal-arts based coursework. From there, he set his sights on becoming a lawyer. To fulfill this dream, Comey then enrolled in the University of Chicago Law School. Two years after enrolling, Comey received his Juris Doctorate from that same university.
