James Marsden's Education Background

James Marsden is a talented actor and singer who will star in this year’s animated feature, Hop, as Fred O’Hare. Marsden will co-star with Russell Brand in this child-friendly film. EDUinReview will now take a look at Marsden’s education background.
Marsden was born on September 18, 1973 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He has four siblings: Jennifer, Elizabeth, Jeff, and Robert. His parents divorced when Marsden was only nine years old. Marsden attended Putnam City North High School and graduated in 1991. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University where he studied Broadcast Journalism. He was also an active member in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and appeared in a college production of Bye Bye Birdie.

When Marsden vacationed in Hawaii with his family, he met actors Kirk Cameron and Candace Cameron Bure. The siblings invited Marsden to visit them in Los Angeles, and after more than a year at OSU, he moved to LA to pursue a career in acting.
It took a while for Marsden to gain acclaim for his acting. His first job was acting as Eddie on the pilot episode of The Nanny. He also appeared on Party of Five and starred in Second Noah, which received good reviews during it’s only season. He is well known for his roles asGlenn Foy in Ally McBeal, Lon Hammon Jr. in The Notebook, Cyclops in the X-Men movies, Corny Collinsin Hairspray, andPrince Edwardin Enchanted.

On a personal note, Marsden married his wife, Lisa Linde, on July 22, 2000. The couple has two children: Jack Holden and Mary James. Marsden tried to raise his children with the understanding that he isn’t special because of his job, but because of who he is a person. Obviously, this Oklahoma-native has a good understanding of himself and the qualities that make a good person. Let’s see if he shares these life lessons in his upcoming film!
