Jamie Foxx's Education Background

Jamie Foxx is an American actor, comedian, and singer-songwriter. He became a household name after his work in Ray in 2004. He has appeared in several other films, including Collateral, Stealth, and Valentine’s Day. He has released four CDs: Peep This, Unpredictable, Intuition, and Best Night of my Life. His next big project, Rio, was released in theaters across the USA on April 15, 2011. EDUinReview will now take a look at the education background of this talented performer.
Jamie was born on December 13, 1967, in Terrell, Texas. When he was seven-months old, his parents abandoned him. He was then adopted and raised by his mother’s adoptive parents, Estelle and Mark Talley. When he was five-years old, his grandmother forced him to begin playing piano, and as a teenager, he played piano and lead the choir at New Hope Baptist Church. Jaime attended Terrell High School. He was very active in high school, earning good grades, playing basketball and football, and singing in a band.

After graduating high school, Jaime received a scholarship to United States International University. He studied classical music and composition.
In 1991, Jaime was invited to perform on In Living Color. The next year, he made his film debut in Toys. Then in 1999, he got his first breakout role in Any Given Sunday; he was cast for the role based on his previous experience as a quarterback in high school. In 2004, he played Ray Charles in the hit blockbuster film, Ray. That year, he was nominated for two Oscars: one for Ray and one for Collateral. His other box-office hits include Jarhead, Miami Vice, Dreamgirls, The Kingdom, The Soloist, and Valentine’s Day.
In addition to movies, Jaime has had a successful music career. He released his first album, Peep This, in 1994. He has since released three other albums with several hit songs, including Gold Digger, Blame It, and Winner.
On a personal note, Jaime has a daughter, Corinne Bishop, who was born in 1993. There is a chance that he has another daughter; Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon announced that Jaime is the father of her child. On New Year’s Eve, Jaime was spotted spending the evening with the baby.
