Jason Segel's Education Background

Jason Segel is an American actor who is possibly best known for his roles in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man, and How I Met Your Mother. His next movie to hit the big screen will be Bad Teacher, in which he co-stars with Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz. EDUinReview will now take a look at his education background.
Segel was born on January 18, 1980, in Los Angeles, California. His parents are Jill and Alvin Segel. He grew up in Pacific Palisades, California and attended a school that is affiliated with the Episcopal Christian Church for elementary school; however, he was raised in the Jewish religion because his father is Jewish. He then attended Harvard-Westlake School for middle school and high school. Segel was very tall even as a young man (6 foot 4 inches) and played for his school’s state champion basketball team in 1996.
Segel first broke into the public eye when he portrayed Nick Andopolis in Freaks and Geeks, a NBC comedy-drama about high school students from 1999-2000. He also had a recurring role on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation from 2004-2005. Segel then landed the role of Marshall Eriksen in How I Met Your Mother in 2005. His first major picture role was in 2007 when he co-starred with Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up. However, he did not really become famous for his big-screen acting roles until the next year when he co-wrote and starred in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Since then, he has also appeared in I Love You, Man, Get Him to the Greek, Despicable Me, and Gulliver’s Travels.
Segel’s next movie to hit the big screen will be Bad Teacher, which will be released in the USA on June 24, 2011.
