Katherine Marie Heigl was born November 24, 1978 in Washington, DC. Heigl began her career as a child model. She was photographed for catalogs and magazines. She eventually began doing television commercials and films. Heigl attended New Canaan High School, and struggled to balance acting and modeling with her studies. She dropped out after her sophomore year of high school. At the age of 17, she appeared in the film
