Ken Jeong's Education Background

Ken Jeong is an American actor, comedian, and physician. Recently, he has probably become best known for his roles in several comedies, including Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, Role Models, and The Hangover. His next movie to be released in the USA will be The Hangover Part II, in which he co-stars with Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifiankis, and Ed Helms. Ken was born on June 15, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan. His parents are Young and D.K. Jeong, both of whom are Korean immigrants. He grew up in Greensboro, Michigan, and attended Walter Hines Page High School. Ken was very active in high school: he was a member of the High IQ team, a violinist in the school’s orchestra, and a member of student council. He graduated from high school when he was only 16-years old. Ken then attended Duke University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1990. He then attended the University of North Carolina, where he earned his medical degree in 1995. He completed his residency in New Orleans at the Ochsner Medical Center, while also beginning his stand-up comedy career.

After winning the Big Easy Laff-Off, Ken moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a comedian. Since then, he has appeared in several television shows, such as The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Two and a Half Men, and Entourage. He is also a series regular in the television sitcom, Community. In 2010, he was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Breakout Star Male for his work on this show.
In 2009, Ken had his breakout role as an actor in The Hangover. He portrayed Leslie Chow, a gangster whom the other main characters hold hostage in a trunk for an evening and who then demands his lost money in exchange for their friend, Doug. He won the 2010 MTV Movie Award for Best WTF Moment for this role and was nominated for the Best Villain, but lost to Tom Felton for his role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
The Hangover Part II will be released in the USA on May 26, 2011.
