Landon Donovan's Educational Background

Landon Timothy Donovan was born on March 4, 1982, in Ontario, California, to Donna Kenney-Cash who was a special education teacher, and Tim Donovan a semi-professional ice hockey player.
He attended Redlands East Valley High School in California where he took three years of Spanish to aid in his sports communication for future professional travels.
In 1997, Donovan was accepted into U.S. Youth Soccer’s Olympic Development Program and then in 1999, he attended the prestigious IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The program is a notable affiliation of United State’s soccer training program. Interestingly, while playing a post-training round of golf at the IMG Academy he almost had a foot bitten off by an alligator.
He is on the roster for the Major League Soccer team the Los Angeles Galaxy, usually as a withdrawn forward or as an attacking midfielder on either wing. Currently playing at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Donovan is a member of the United States national team where he is the all-time leader in assists and scoring and has the most caps of all active players. He is also the only six-time winner of the Honda Player of the Year award.
Donovan did not attend college, as he was recruited to play for Germany at the age of 17.
