Olympian Spotlight on Meryl Davis

How she trains: Meryl and her partner, Charlie White, both attend school at the University of Michigan. They have been skating together since 1997, making them the longest-lasting figure skating couple in the country. The two train together at Arctic Edge Figure Skating Club in Canton, Michigan and at Detroit’s Figure Skating Club.
How she manages it all: Meryl contributes her success to the support she receives from her family and friends.
“We feel really fortunate that we’re able to train in our home state,” she said. “We live 40 minutes away from our families, and U of M is really right down the road from such an amazing training facility, so we’re just really lucky.”

Fun Fact: Meryl is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority at the University of Michigan. After college, Meryl hopes to attend graduate school and get a job at National Geographic, which would allow her to put her cultural anthropology major to good use. Her favorite books include the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Angels and Demons.
