Ralph Fiennes' Education Background

Ralph Fiennes is an English actor who was born in Suffolk, England on December 22, 1962. Fiennes has appeared in many films, including Schindler’s List, Maid in Manhattan, and The Hurt Locker. For many students though, he is best known for his role as Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter movies. EDUinReview will now take a look into the education background of this talented actor.
Fiennes comes from an aristocratic family. He is the oldest of six children born to Jennifer Lash and Mark Fiennes. He is an eighth cousin of HRH Charles, Prince of Wales.
Fiennes attended St. Kieran’s College for one year. He then attended Newton School, an independent Quaker school in Waterford, Ireland. After moving to Salisbury, England, Fiennes attended Bishop Wordsworth’s School and the Chelsea School of Art. He also received professional acting training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Fiennes made his film debut in 1992 when he starred as Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of concentration camp commandant Amon Goth in Schindler’s List. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1996 for his work in The English Patient.
Fiennes first portrayed Lord Voldemort in 2005 in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. His nephew, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, portrays the young Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Fiennes will once again portray “He Who Must Not be Named” in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which opens on November 19, 2010 in the U.S.
