This weekend I was lucky enough to attend the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim shows in Miami, from July 15 to July 19.
Known for their Florida sunshine and luxurious hotels and beaches, Miami got much hotter this weekend when Aqua Di Lara, A.Z Arajuo, Aquarella, Beach Bunny, Caffé Swimwear, Cia.Martima, Crystal Jin, Dolores Cortes, Ed Hardy, Kooey Australia, Lisa Blue, Lisa Maree, Luli Fama, Mara Hoffman, Marysia, Naila, Nicolita, Olasul, Parke & Ronen, Poko Pano, Qiss Qiss, Red Carter, Swimwear Anywhere, Trina Turk, True Religion, Tyler Rose, and White Sands Australia brought their summer 2011 collections to the iconic tents at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach.
The looks you should rock on Spring Break 2011 seem to range from sharp geometrically-designed solid colored suits to bold and bright Moroccan-styled bikinis.One-piece swim suits for girls with the sides cut out were also showcased by almost every designer.Sheer, light-weight material cover ups with wild and vivid patterns were popular this season, especially with embellished accents. Ruffled rompers also frequented the collections, and most swim suits were accessorized with big, wooden or plastic bangles and large sunglasses. For guys, neon board shorts, with colored t-shirts were popular, along with aviator sunglasses. Gaining increasing popularity this year as well were the slightly shorter board shorts. Fedora hats are still in style for both girls and guys, and the light straw colored ones remain your best bet! Now that you’ve been brought up-to-date with the fashion industry’s latest trends from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, you’re all set to embark to Panama or Cancun for Spring Break 2011!
