Students in India Invent an Air-Powered Motorcycle

It is no secret that India suffers from a terrible pollution problem. However, a group of engineering students may have found a solution to that problem – an economical and affordable mode of transportation that is pollution free and eco-friendly. Their answer? A motorcycle powered solely by air.

Without the need for petroleum or diesel fuel, the air bike – as it has been nicknamed – emits oxygen instead of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Fueled by nothing but two large tanks of compressed air, it travels at a noisy and relatively slow pace of 18 km/h, but the students are confident that will improve with a little fine tuning.
Presently India is responsible for about 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Possible solutions using abundant resources as simple as air could be an enormous leap in solving the current environmental situation.
