TBS Premieres Glory Daze Tonight, a New Show About Greek Life

Tonight, November 16, 2010, a new comedy-drama series is set to premiere on TBS, called Glory Daze.
Starring Matt Bush, Drew Seeley, Hartley Sawyer, Kelly Blatz, Callard Harris, Julianna Guill and Tim Meadows this hour long show centers around college freshmen who pledged their fraternities and sororities in 1986.
Created by Walt Becker (Van Wilder) and Michael LeSieur, the show takes place at Hayes University in Indiana.

From my experience in Greek life, Indiana is known unofficially as the capital of Greek life, as many fraternities’ and sororities’ headquarters offices are there and a large amount of organizations were founded in Indiana. My experience also tells me that fraternity and sorority life in the 1980s in America was wild, filled with hazing stories and family legacy, that cultivated the horrible Greek stereotypes that plague the system still today.
As of now, TBS has ordered a ten episode run for the series, that also reportedly will highlight the coming of age of the young adolescents as undergo the college transition into their new roles as freshmen. Most of the cast is your typical stereotyped Greek characters: a virgin who wants to be cool, a preppy conservative, a nice guy who wants to be a doctor but loses his path because he’s distracted by girls and a star athlete with father appeasement issues.
Will you be tuning in? Apparently the Twitter nation is planning on it, as the TBS promoted quote/tagline from the show #PledgesorHotties is trending nationally.
