Wendy Williams' Education Background

Wendy Williams is an American author, DJ, and media personality. She is well known for her talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, and her various arguments with celebrities. She recently announced that she will be competing on this season’s Dancing with the Stars. EDUinReview will now take a look at the education background of this interesting woman.
Wendy was born on July 18, 1964 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. She is the middle child of three children. She graduated from Ocean Township High School. After high school, she attended Northeastern University, where she earned her BA in communications in 1986. She was also a popular DJ on the college’s radio station during her time at Northeastern.
Before starting her trademark career of talking about celebrities at “98.7 Kiss FM” in 1989, Wendy also interned at “Kiss 108” and WVIS, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In 1993, she won the Billboard Award for Best On-Air Radio Personality for her work at Kiss.

In 1998, she was fired for supposedly starting a fight with a co-worker. She discussed the fight in her autobiography, Wendy’s Got the Heat, and claims it was mostly a verbal confrontation and that the station used the incident as a reason to terminate her career.
She returned to the New York airwaves in 2001 when WBLS offered a full-time job with a syndicated program. By 2008, Wendy’s program was being aired in at least nine major markets. Wendy’s program features her brash interviews with celebrities and plenty of gossip. Also in 2008, her daytime talk show premiered on FOX. Today, the show airs in more than 95 percent of U.S. markets.
On February 28, 2011, Wendy made another shocking announcement that she will be appearing on the next season of Dancing with the Stars.
