Western Governors University Hosts Video Scholarship Contest

Western Governors University is hosting a video scholarship contest.
I personally think the WGU’s, “A Smarter Way to Learn” television advertisement is really funny, especially when the woman in the desk knocks over everything at the dinner table. Have a look:

But maybe you believe you could produce an advertisement that is better.
Well here is your shot.
The online university invites you to make your own Western Governors University commercial. The commercial can be humorous, dramatic, an action or animation advertisement, whatever genre you prefer to use.
The video should be either a 30- or 60-second commercial that illustrates why the university is “A Smarter Way to Learn”. You must also include the Western Governors University contest URL some place within your commercial, so your audience will know where and how to vote for your video.
The first five entries will also receive $50 Amazon.com gift certificate.
The contest closes July 15, 2010 and then on July 16, your friends and family or the general audience may vote for their favorite commercial until July 25, 2010. On July 27, 2010 the top 10 finalists will be posted on the site and the second round of voting will begin until August 10, 2010.
Winners will be announced August 13, 2010, and will be determined by a combination of votes and video quality.

• The grand prize winner will receive a scholarship to WGU valued up to $7,500 and a $500 cash prize.
• The second-place prize winner will receive a scholarship to WGU valued up to $3,000 and a $500 cash prize.
• The third-place prize winner will receive a scholarship to WGU valued up to $2,000 or a $500 cash prize.
• The two runner-up prize winners will receive one $100 Amazon gift certificate.
