Will Ferrell's Education Background

Will Ferrell is an American actor, comedian, and writer who first gained fame for his work on Saturday Night Live in the late 1990s. Some of his films include Old School, Elf, and Anchorman. He is a member of the Frat Pack, a group of comedic actors who have become widely popular in the past few years. EDUinReview will now take a look at Ferrell’s education background.
Ferrell was born on July 16, 1967, in Irvine, California. His parents are Betty Kay and Roy Lee Ferrell, Jr. He attended Turtle Rock Elementary, Rancho San Joaquin Middle School, and University High School in Irvine. While in high school, Ferrell played for his school’s varsity football team. After high school, Ferrell attended the University of Southern California. He studied sports broadcasting and information and was an active member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
In 1995, Ferrell joined the cast of Saturday Night Live where he made a name for himself by doing impersonations. Some of the people he impersonated include George W. Bush, Neil Diamond, and Saddam Hussein. After seven years, Ferrell retired from the show but he has returned twice to host in May 2005 and May 2009.

Ferrell also started his film acting career during this time. Some of his more popular movies include the Austin Powers series, Zoolander, and A Night at the Roxbury. In 2003, he co-starred in Old School, which was a major success and earned Ferrell an award nomination for MTV’s Best Comedic Performance. Later that same year, Elf came to the big screen. If Old School didn’t do the job, then Elf really sealed the deal of Ferrell’s new-found celebrity status. Since then, he has gone on to star or appear in many other films, including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, The Producers, Wedding Crashers, Kicking and Screaming, Blades of Glory, Step Brothers, and Megamind.
On a personal note, Ferrell met his future wife, Viveca Paulin, in 1995 at an acting class and they married in August 2000. They have three sons: Magnus, Mattias, and Axel. Ferrell enjoys running and has ran in several major marathons. He has also raised money for various charities, such as his Scholarships for Cancer Survivors campaign.
