Zach Galifianakis' Education Background

Zach Galifianakis is an American actor and comedian. He first gained an underground following for his stand-up comedy acts and his appearances on the Comedy Central Presents specials. He became more of a household name when he starred in The Hangover, Dinner for Schmucks, and Due Date in 2009 and 2010. His next movie is set to be released in the USA on May 26, 2011. In The Hangover Part II, Zach will revive his role as Alan, alongside Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Ken Jeong. EDUinReview will now take a look at this hilarious actor’s education background.
Zach was born on October 1, 1969, in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. He is the second child of Mary Francis and Harry Galifianakis. He is of Greek descent on his father’s side. Zach graduated from Wilkes Central High School in Moravian Falls, NC. He then attended North Carolina State University, where he studied communications. He did not graduate from college.
Zach’s first episode of Comedy Central Presents aired in September 2001. He then began hosting his own talk show on VH1 in 2002 called Late World with Zach. The show featured many of Zach’s friends and co-performers. The next year, Zach joined the cast of Tru Calling and stayed with the show until 2005.

In 2008, Zach starred in his first film, Visioneers, an independent film which was released directly to DVD. The next year was a big year for Zach. In 2009, Zach portrayed Alan in The Hangover, a funny character who accidentally roofies the rest of his “Wolf Pack” friends in Las Vegas. Zach won the MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance for his work in the film. Since then, he has costarred in other hit films, including Up in the Air, Youth in Revolt, Dinner for Schmucks, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, and Due Date.
The Hangover Part II will hit theaters on May 26, 2011.
